About Heather:  With over 46 years of piano experience—including early classical training at the UMKC Conservatory—I am dedicated to helping students of all ages unlock their musical potential. I graduated magna cum laude as a Presidential Scholar from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Music Education and piano performance. Since 2001, I have proudly taught private piano lessons across the Triangle. My methodology translates years of specialized study into engaging, personalized instruction tailored to each student's unique goals. This approach builds on 16 years of Pre-K-8 classroom music teaching and choral directing, where I guided and prepared dozens of students for the prestigious NC Honors Choirs.  In addition, my 26 years of experience as a church and choral accompanist allows me to provide students with a rich understanding of musicality, ensemble performance, and expressive playing. To ensure my teaching methods remain inspiring and current, I maintain active memberships in the MTNA, NAfME, CAPTA, and the RPTA.  (visit the piano studio policies page to hear me play)
